A feature on Samsung Galaxy phones is extremely unpopular: Bixby. So once again, Bixby is given prominent placement on the Galaxy S22. You can disable the virtual assistant by following the instructions below. Disable Bixby on Samsung Galaxy S22
On the Galaxy S22, Bixby appears in a couple of places. First, holding the power button brings up Bixby rather than the power menu, perhaps the most irritating aspect. Additionally, you can wake Bixby up by saying, “Hi, Bixby”. Let’s eliminate both.
With the Galaxy S8 and S8+, Samsung introduced the intelligence assistant Bixby. Using Bixby is as easy as talking, texting, or tapping. As a result, Bixby can perform many of the functions you act on your phone.
Disable Bixby on Samsung Galaxy S22 from the Power Button
Since the power button on the Galaxy S22 no longer opens the power menu by default, it’s technically called the “Side Key.” This process wakes up Bixby instead.
In the Settings menu, select “Advanced Features”.
Next, choose “Side Key”.
Last but not least, change the action for “Press and Hold” to “Power Off Menu.”
The button won’t launch Bixby anymore when you press and hold it! You can turn your computer off and restart it with the power menu.
Turn Off the Bixby Wake-Up Command
If you say “Hi, Bixby” anywhere, you will be able to use Bixby. However, the background listening for the command is taking up your battery if you don’t want to use Bixby. So we should disable that too.
Tap the compass icon on the floating Bixby bar after opening “Bixby” from the app drawer.
Choose “Settings” from the three-dot menu on the top right.
Users can now toggle off the “Voice Wake-up” switch.
It’s that simple. You can now use the Power Button to bring up the power menu again since Bixby will no longer listen for the wake-up command. Your Galaxy S22 still has Bixby installed, but since you’ve disabled it in these areas, you’ll never encounter it.
